Reminders, Tidbits & Thoughts
I'm just sitting back enjoying the breeze. I decided to finish the post that I started about 1 something this morning.
My birthday falls on Saturday, July 10...that is approximately 10 days away from today. I'll be 25. Man, time is moving by too quickly. It seems like I just turned 21 last year. In 5 years, I'll be 30. Yikes! For the last 4 years, I have not spent my birthday at home with my family. This year is no different. I will actually be spending my birthday in Ohio. I'll be there on official business for work & I may get to hang out with a friend or two. That should be boring & exciting at the same time.
Oh yea...I like gifts. If you're feeling particularly kind, you can check out my wish list.
Clueless Blurbs...
- Rick James was high...that's all I can say after his proclamation at the BET Awards. He made "My name is Rick James b****" sound so crass & mean spirited. It wasn't even funny. Cocaine is a powerful drug Mr. James. *shakes head*
- Why in hell was I watching BET anyway?
I didn't plan to watch it. My friend gave me heads up that they would be doing a Hip Hop tribute, and I wanted to peep it. I must say that even though I despise BET, I was really enjoyed that "Ode to Hip Hop" segment. You're girl started doing the wop to Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh's "The Show." I only watched it for that segment & then I turned. My cousin Andy called me to tell me to switch back to BET to check out Rick James & Teena Marie sound a hot mess. And that's when Rick James dropped the bomb.
- I will be experimenting with various colors and designs for this site, so don't be surprised if you see something new like every day. LOL. I'm just a really indecisive person. Ideas float around in my head like flies float around food left on the ground. Ty decking out new digs for the site that will I think you all will enjoy. It's rather appropriate for the site tite as well.
- I'm trying to ween myself off of the Pepsi. I swear it's like a drug. It's like my cigarette or something. I can't function if I don't drink at least 2 cans a day. I know it's not good for me, which is why I'm trying to stop. But, it keeps calling me. It's like "Timi...you know you want me. Drink me baby. Drink Me." It's bad. I drinking a bottle of Pepsi while typing this. I need help.
- Aside from myself & Ty, are there any other black bloggers from Delaware in the Blogosphere? Just a thought. I know that they're are a few right up the way in Philly, but I'd be curious to know if there were more of us.
BlackforBush.org has a P.O. Box in Wilmington, so naturally I assume that they are based in Wilmington. I don't think that they have a blog on the site yet though. Go check out the site. The site's title, Blacks For Bush, is quite decieving. I think you'll enjoy it.
- Did AJ get fired off of 106 & Park? Free has been rolling solo lately. I don't watch BET regularly...hell...I don't want BET practically at all, so I'm out of the loop.
- Perhaps it's just me, but that in Fat Joe's video "Lean Back"
looks likereminds me of Lil' Kim. She too looks plastic. - I'm back to the ghost hunting again. I didn't see any strange occurances this time, so I have no burden of proof to put on display. Ghosts are real. Don't dismiss me as a nutcase. I'm serious yo. There's a method behind the madness.
Ephesians 6
12We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world.Let the church say Amen...*Amen Susta!* Well!
- What is up with these silly school teachers having sex with little boys? Are you that desperate for some wang that you would molest a child? Geez!
Teacher charged with having sex with 14-year-old student
What is up with these silly school teachers having sex with little boys? Are you that desperate for some wang that you would molest a child? Geez!
Ok...I've run out of filler for this post. I'm out.

MT Headaches
Trying to configure this Movable Type stuff is giving me a major league headache.
My text is doing weird stuff. One has to refresh my page in order to see the entire text on my page. That is annoying. Also, my posts are disappearing. I've heard about disappearing posts from other MT users, so this may not be a configuration issue. Nevertheless, it is still bothering me to no end.
No one that I've asked knows a solution to the refresh issue. If there is anyone out that can help me, please let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it.
[Edit] The disappearing text issues appears to be a glitch in Internet Explorer. It's not displaying the page correctly. If you are using Mozilla or a mac computer, the page loads just fine. I downloaded Mozilla Firefox & I had no problem viewing the site. No missing text, no cut-offs, no nothing. Most people using IE will have issues viewing the text on this site if they do not refresh the page. [Edit]

Top Spots
While blog hopping, I came across this site over at Lynn's Blog. Based upon criteria that you select, the site chooses the best cities/towns that will most fit your lifestyle. I thought I'd give the site a try.
My results were comprised of 4 pages. I just don't feel like publishing all four pages. Overall, I was pleased with my listed. There were a few questionable places, but nothing really out of the ordinary.
Here are some of my results...
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin This Wisconsin "City of Festivals" celebrates its diverse ethnic heritage all year long, with over 20 major cultural festivals…
- Chicago, Illinois
- Eau Claire, Wisconsin
- Champaign-Urbana, Illinois
- Worcester, Massachusetts This city at the heart of New England is home to the EcoTarium, a science center for all ages…
- Providence, Rhode Island This Rhode Island spot is the home of the award-winning flaming sculpture WaterFire, installed on the three rivers of downtown...
- Detroit, Michigan The first State Fair in the nation was held in this Michigan city in 1849…
- Madison, Wisconsin Located between lakes Monona and Mendota, this picturesque spot is the only North American city built on an isthmus…
- Sheboygan, Wisconsin
- Cincinnati, Ohio
This big Ohio city with the small-town feel is home to baseball's first professional team: the Reds started in 1869…
- Indianapolis, Indiana
The largest water clock in North America (it uses 70 gallons of water) is in the largest children's museum in the world, in this Indiana city... - Des Moines, Iowa
This capital of Iowa is also the Jell-O gelatin capital of the world... - Oshkosh-Appleton/Neenah, Wisconsin
Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Winnebago, this spot hosted the country's first recorded road race, won by a locally built steam car…LOL. I don't think so!
This big city has more shopping center space per capita than any other American city…
The award-winning Ski Sprites Water Ski Show Team entertains visitors each summer in this Wisconsin town...
Clean Water, Clean Living...and NO EXCITEMENT! Who wants to live in Eau Claire?
Nearly one-fourth of the working adults in this spot are employed in education…
Good enough for graduate school, but I can't see myself making a home here
What? Who cares about an EcoTarium
Providence is listed on my my top 5 places to settle list which includes Detroit, Seattle, Charlotte & Columbus, OH
Detroit ranks #1 on my "Places to Settle" list. So, I was happy to see this pop up in my results
Reader's Digest declared this the best spot in the country to raise a family…
Sheboygan? What the heck?? I have the feeling that I'd be the only negro in town...
Three of my ideal cities showed up on this list. I did it 3 times, and I still got the same results.

Layouts
I've been experimenting with various layouts. I have yet to find one that catches the eye. I've made a layout, but I'm having issues configuring my tables & stuff. I'm anxious to finish it. I guess the present layout will work until I fully establish the site.
I'd like to thank Carla for re-installing my MT for me. I jacked it up the first 2 times that I tried on my own. I owe you a bunch Carla!
[edit] I made the layout that now graces the pages of this blog. How does it look? [/edit]

Carla here!
I just installed MT on Timi's server. All seems to be fine at the moment. I hope she'll be happy with it. The hard part is probably designing the page. That's the hardest part for me, but I manage to pull it off. I'm gonna leave a little poem on here just for posting purposes. Enjoy!
We find ourselves telling each other the deepest details of our lives, things we don't even share with the families who raised us.
But what is a friend?
A confidant? A shoulder to cry on? An ear to listen? A heart to feel?
A friend is all of these things and more.
No matter where we met, no matter how long we've known each other . . . I call you a friend.
A word so small, yet so large in feeling . . . A word filled with emotion . . . A word overflowing with *Love*.
Truly great things come in small packages. Once the package of friendship has been opened, one is forever changed.
It is a constant always waiting...Waiting to be read and enjoyed.
Most likely we will have our disagreements. We will probably disappoint each other. There is a very good chance we will argue. We have an excellent possibility of driving each other over the edge.
Friendship is a difficult road to travel. But it is the safest route available.
It is the only way home.
Thank all of you for traveling with me on this rocky road.
Thank you for being my friends!
